Chotila is a Hindu temple town and Taluka headquarters of Chotila Taluka, Surendranagar district, located near Rajkot, Gujarat, India.

History
Chotila was known Chotgadh in historical times. It was originally a holding of the Sodha Parmars but was conquered from Jagsio Parmar by the Khachar Kathis who made it one of their principal seats. Most of the Khachar Kathis trace their origin to the Chotila house. Chotila was acquired by the Kathis in 1566 AD.It is the top quarters of an Agency thana in the course of British period.

The Hill is approx 1173 feet in top so all devotees need to attain there through climbing as much as 340 steps stair and at the bottom of the hill there are numerous stores to buy some spiritual items inclusive of chundari, kumkum, dvd and and so forth. In India mostly all ‘mataji’ or Deity’s temples are located on the top of the hill. Chamunda Devi is also famous as Rann chandi, Durga and Parvati. She is a warrior and goddess of power and kuldevi of many people in saurastra. Chamunda goddess has the Lion and her vehicle. Chotila temple is very famous across Gujarat and India.
