calendarNov 26 2017
Lake Blanche Trail is a 6.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Salt Lake City, Utah that features a waterfall and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from June until October.

Beautiful mountaintop lake, awesome views, and abundant wildlife.

Lake Blanche is a classic hiking destination in the Twin Peaks Wilderness Area. You'll find the trailhead up Big Cottonwood Canyon at the Mill B South Fork trailhead, at the bottom of the S-curve.

Open areas can get wicked hot during summer afternoons--best to hike it first thing in the morning. Bring plenty of water as the steep trail will keep you sweating constantly.

The dramatic views near the lake of the Salt Lake Valley and the lake itself are iconic landscapes in Utah's Wasatch mountain range.

Lake Blanche is nestled high in Utah’s Big Cottonwood Canyon, with spectacular views that stretch as far as the eyes can see! Sitting peacefully under the dramatic Sundial Peak, this sparkling lake welcomes any hiker that is willing to put in the effort to complete this strenuous trek.

This hike is 7 miles round trip , with the option of extending to two more lakes, Lake Florence and Lake Lillian (which I HIGHLY recommend if you have the energy)!

To find the other two lakes, take a right at Lake Blanche and walk counter-clockwise. The three lakes are connected by their outlets, so follow the water leaving the lake and you will see a primitive trail (don’t cross the rock wall) leading you down to the second lake, Lake Florence.
